| Mon November 17, 2003 | Second instalment now available IDC Publishers is releasing the second instalment of the collection Philosophy and the Liberal Arts in the Early Modern Period. The works have been selected by Prof. Joseph S. Freedman from Alabama State University, Montgomery, Alabama. The sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries all are well represented in the titles contained in installment 2. In addition to those published in Germany, it contains works published in the present-day areas of Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland (Geneva). Writings by Protestant and Roman Catholic authors are included, though the latter are better represented. |
| Fri January 24, 2003 | New Agreement Signed! IDC Publishers is pleased to announce that on January 6, 2003, the Herzog August Bibliothek in Wolfenbüttel and IDC Publishers have signed an agreement for filming a new instalment for the Philosophy and Liberal Arts microfiche project. The titles for this instalment have been carefully selected out of the very rich collection of the library, by our advisor Joseph Freedman. The new instalment will cover almost all sections of the project and will become available in summer 2003. |

| Thu June 27, 2002 | The Weight of an Angel From 3 to 5 June 2002, a symposium called The Universe of Learning in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Centuries took place at the Herzog August Bibliothek, Wolfenbüttel (Germany). Some 20 participants from Europe and the United States discussed topics such as School Philosophy under the Habsburgs and Matter Theory and Natural Philosophy at Early 17th Century Harvard. | Thu June 20, 2002 | New titles added IDC Publishers has added 109 new titles to the on-line catalog, making the total number of titles available 395. The new titles have been selected by Prof. Joseph S. Freedman from collections previously issued by IDC Publishers. Among these collections are Humanism in 16th Century Zurich, The Catholic Reformation, Musicology, and Philological Tools in the 16th Century. The titles have been reproduced from the holdings of some renowned European libraries, such as the Zentralbibliothek Zürich, the Herzog August Bibliothek in Wolfenbüttel and the Bibliothèque des Fontaines in Chantilly. Among the titles added are works by Petrus Ramus, Jacques Lefèvre d’Etaples, and Henricus Glareanus. A title list can be downloaded below.
