MARC cataloging

Bibliographic standards
All titles in this collection are provided with bibliographic records in MARC21 format. The MARC records come free with the microfiches. The records were created according to the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2) and the descriptive cataloging rules for rare books (DCRB: Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Books). Forms of personal names, corporate bodies and meeting names are controlled by the Library of Congress Name Authority Files (LCNAF). Subject entries conform to the Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH).

RLG Union Catalog
IDC Publishers contributes the records in this series to the RLG Union Catalog, an on-line database maintained by the Research Libraries Group (RLG). This database serves as an international union catalog for everything from books and serials to archives, manuscripts, maps, music scores, photographs, and more. The catalog extends from the advent of printing to the present, reflecting the collections of major research and academic libraries; archives and museums; law, medical, and theological libraries; art and music libraries; area studies collections; public and corporate libraries and historical societies. Updated daily, the catalog includes more than 36 million titles. IDC's records are flagged with the RLG library identifier NLDC.
